Press release: CONTENTshift 2026 - Relaunch Innovation Competition 17.03.2026

The future of the leading start-up accelerator for the publishing industry is assured: Börsenverein Baden‑Württemberg is continuing its innovation programme, which for over a decade has successfully brought technological advances into the world of publishing. National and international start-ups are invited to apply for CONTENTshift by 30th April. Selected participants benefit from tailored mentoring, privileged access to an outstanding network within the book trade, and the opportunity to win the CONTENTshift AWARD, endowed with €10,000. The award will be presented on 8th October 2026 at the Baden‑Württemberg stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

The CONTENTshift innovation programme is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of Baden‑Württemberg and supported by the MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden‑Württemberg.

Over the past ten years, the CONTENTshift Accelerator has established itself as a cornerstone of innovation for the book and media industries. In light of rapid technological change, it is now assuming renewed significance as a driver of transformation. Following a creative hiatus, the programme will resume in 2026, continuing its mission to support publishing start-ups under the auspices of Baden‑Württemberg as a strong publishing hub. CONTENTshift champions forward‑thinking business models and connects start-ups across sectors with established players from the publishing and media industries—far beyond the borders of the region.

The national and international call for applications to the CONTENTshift innovation programme is now open. Start-ups developing innovative solutions for the publishing industry can apply until 30th April 2026 via the programme website.
